Many chronic conditions are best addressed by a healthy and comprehensive holistic approach.  Functional medicine is the process or discipline of taking an individual with a chronic condition and evaluating their systems based biology and nutritional deficits to effect a healthy change.   In functional medicine, we respect the fact that in many chronic conditions there may be many things that are causing the condition not to improve.  Most medicine attempts to address symptoms but does not address the underlying cause.  Functional medicine looks for all things that are contributing to the underlying cause, and goes about addressing them one by one…largely with dietary changes and supplementation.

Blood sugar problems like diabetes type 2, circulation problems, hypothyroid problems, Obesity and weight loss problems, Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism, gut problems and brain-fog are just a few of conditions that will benefit from functional medicine.

This treatment commonly begins a comprehensive health questionnaire and with ordering labs that will give us the insight on how best to address your condition.  You may be asked to get blood tests, specific urinalysis and complete fecal analysis when necessary.  While some functional medicine doctors rely solely or heavily on muscle testing, Dr. Mountain believes that tests and a comprehensive approach to returning your body back to its healthy state is the best and most responsible way.

Dr. Mountain will also be the first to tell you if your condition would be more effectively treated else where.  Dr. Mountain treats patients because he loves to…not because he needs to.   The other part of his reputation is founded on the fact that he has always been honest and forth coming with his clients!
